How do their emissions compare to other sources? Before the industrial age, there were millions of bison and other animals as well as (a much smaller than today’s number of) humans burning coal and wood producing carbon emissions, yet the climate remained relatively stable. I think blaming cattle for what humans have done is ludicrous.

Are the families in the cohousing expected to assist in farming while still paying $1.8 million for a home? Is there some form of profit sharing or just the guarantee of knowing they will live next to an operating farm? It sounds as though these are just developers using the profits to finance another business.
