Hi Laura, Rebar is the long, steel rods used to reinforce concrete structures like buildings, bridges and the like. I’d say it’s about 1/2 inch thick. There’s nothing special about it other than it is a source for inexpensive heavy steel rods. You can likely find it there, but anything you can use as a ground stake that the PVC will fit over would work. Good luck with your garden!

Rebar is an abbreviated word for reinforcement bar. It is a metal (iron?) bar about 1/2 inch in diameter, Rebar is heavy and very sturdy. It is often used for internally reinforcing concrete structures.

A cold frame is used at the beginning of the season to give seedlings a head start. I’ve made mini-temporary hoop structures as directed below to extend winter crops like kale, spinach, chard, etc. They work well, are easy and inexpensive to construct, and easy to remove when finished with them.

Rebar is short for reinforcing bar, also known as reinforcement steel or reinforcing steel. Perhaps you may have seen it at a construction site or poking out of some concrete or masonry somewhere. There should be loads of photographs and articles online.

Makes any information on modernfarmer suspect. Too bad!

Thank you ?

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand rebars!
